JCC OED's mission is to foster the development and expansion of a diversified and healthy base of primary business and industry that will better balance the tax base, increase job opportunities, and enhance both the quality and standard of living in James City County.
James City County’s experience in encouraging business dates back over 400 years. The County was founded by the Virginia Company in 1607 as America’s first business venture.
Since its inception, James City County has a history of establishing, nurturing and pursuing profitable enterprises.
